The distributive property of multiplication over addition is used when we multiply a number by a sum.

For example:

Lets suppose we want to multiply 7 by the sum of (15+3). So, according to this property, we can add the numbers and then multiply by 7.

It can be written like this :

[tex]7(15+3)[/tex]

[tex]7(18)[/tex]

= 126
