Answer:

x = -8

4x + 8 = 2x - 8

3x + 4 = 2x - 4

2x + 16 = x + 8

x - 1 = 2x + 7

17x + 36 = 16x + 28

13x + 2 = 12x + 11

.......

(this is infinite)

As long as it cancels out to x = -8
