The more gas there is the more heat gets trapped in the atmosphere

Explanation:

as the heat increases it causes our polar caps to melt resulting in their mirror like white to fail at its natural duty, which is to reflect UV rays back out into space so that we don't overheat. It also causes other things to stop working naturally.
