We know that, standard forms of a hyperbola are

1. For Horizontal hyperbola:

[tex]\dfrac{(x-h)^2}{a^2}-\dfrac{(y-k)^2}{b^2}=1[/tex]

2. For Vertical hyperbola:

[tex]\dfrac{(y-k)^2}{a^2}-\dfrac{(x-h)^2}{b^2}=1[/tex]

where, (h,k) is center of the hyperbola.

Therefore, the correct option is B.
