Harisena, also known as Harishena or Hirisena, was a Sanskrit poet, panegyrist, and government minister who lived in the fourth century. He was a powerful figure in the court of Samudragupta, the Gupta emperor. His most famous poem, written around 345 C.E., is inscribed on the Allahabad Pillar and describes Samudragupta's bravery.
