[tex] \frac{x}{5} -50= \frac{x}{6} [/tex]
[tex]30( \frac{x}{5} -50)= 30(\frac{x}{6})[/tex]
[tex]6x -1500=5x[/tex]
[tex]1500 = x[/tex]

x/5 is 50 more than x/6
x/5=50+x/6
6x/30=50+5x/30
minus 5x/30 from both sides
x/30=50
times 30 both sides
