Not all sources of information are useful to quench curiosity primarily because of adequacy, accuracy, and reliability. Many sources exist which are based off personal bias or simply contain misinformation. It is always important to enable critical thinking to discern between what one feels is reliable versus unreliable; the use of prior knowledge in a sense allows for the quenching of curiosity through knowledge known to be the truth.
