The politician who introduced the term "Iron Curtain" was Winston Churchill. The Iron Curtain was the physical boundary between essentially Western Europe and Eastern Europe at the end of World War II in 1945 until the end of the Cold War (1991). However, many other politicians have used the term to reference smaller divisions of the Iron Curtain in Europe.
